This idea came about when the automatic ice maker broke at our house and friends were coming over for a crazy trip of sky diving and wine tasting. The night they came into town, they were desperate for ice in their beer… because nobody likes a warm beer, of course.     I had just finished prepping my Hulk Muffins for the next week, so my clean muffin tin was lying on the counter to dry. In desperation for some ice, one of the girls came up with the idea to use the muffin tin as an ice tray. So they added the water and threw it in the freezer for 45 minutes, and voila; an immediate ice cube maker! The ice cubes fit perfectly into the glass and looked pretty damn classy for just being frozen water. And that’s what sparked this idea… Thanks to the desperate need for cold beer, I came up with a kick-ass party idea for summer!   fruit infused summer recipes in San Diego   First, take your muffin pan and only fill it half way to the top with water. This ensures there’s enough space for the fruit you want to add in! Since ice cubes are small, you’ll want to dice up your fruit & herbs to fit within the muffin tin or ice cube tray. Try any of these fruit infused combinations: strawberries & blueberries, lemons & limes, strawberries, blueberries, cilantro, oranges, or peaches.     Classy summer party DIY dice your fruit to add to water     Once you’ve diced your fruit, its time to add your favorite combos to the tray! If you’re like me and prepare too much fruit, then no worries! You can eat the rest or make fruit infused water instead! I did both. Add fruit to your water and ice to stay hydrated for summer   Now just add the tray to your freezer. It takes about 45 minutes to an hour for the ice cubes to freeze. If you’re preparing for a party, be sure to start preparing at least 2 hours ahead of time to have everything ready before your guests arrive. If you’re looking for a poverty macro meal that takes all the “bro” food and combines it into a green muffin, then you’ve come to the right place. Chances are, you actually came because you’re looking for a healthy version of muffins for breakfast or a snack that are low in calories and will aid you in your weight loss or bodybuilding goals. Hulk muffins are the first of all poverty macro meals that I ever tried when I was prepping for my first NPC bikini competition show. Competitors do crazy shit. This is one of those crazy things, but it’s still something I eat on a regular basis because it’s delicious, healthy, and easy to prep. To prepare you will need a muffin tin, the ingredients, and blender. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. You will be done close to the time that the oven is ready for you. low calorie recipe for competition prep Spray your tin pan and let’s begin. Measure out ½ cup of steel-cut Quaker oats and 1 cup of egg whites. Add both ingredients to the blender. Before blending, you can measure out 1 cup of spinach or be like me and just grab a couple handfuls of spinach and throw it in the blender. Be careful about adding too much or the muffin tin will overflow when you pour it in. Now blend it, baby! how to prep low calorie meals for NPC bikini competitors You can also make this a few other ways based on your macros or preference. You can use the recipe above and add cinnamon to the mix to make it sweet or you can chop up some jalapenos to make it spicy! I did both on competition prep. My current preference is to use the original hulk muffin recipe and add sugar-free syrup before I eat it. I probably go a little overboard, but that’s okay because the muffins themselves are so low in calories! Another way you can do it is by excluding the oats from the recipe and adding more veggies to make egg muffins! If you’re out of spinach, then you can use mixed greens as a replacement (which happened to me when taking pictures for this article)!   Once it’s all blended (should take less than three seconds), pour it into the muffin tin. There should be enough for three muffins. This is one serving of muffins. You’re going to make four servings, so continue this process three more times and you’ll have four day’s worth of breakfast or snacks ready to go every morning! Put your hulk muffins in the oven for 25 minutes at 350 degrees. Once they’re all set, you can put them in Tupperware and have them ready to go for the week (or eat them right away, who am I to tell you what to do?)
